A 27–year-old man wanted for a stabbing in downtown Wichita is now in jail.
Police reported a woman was walking to her car around 12 a.m. Monday, near Douglas and St. Francis, when the man walked up and stabbed her in the abdomen. She was taken to a hospital with injuries described as serious, but not life-threatening.
The WPD released security photos of the suspect to help get him identified. An officer found the suspect around 6:30 Monday evening, near Broadway and Central. Officials have not said whether or not the security video play a role in getting the suspect found.
Jail records show this suspect was booked for drug charges and a state warrant. Evidence is being turned over to the DA’s office to decide on charges.
