Star Spangled Salute: Veteran Looks To Honor Black Veterans

Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Army Veteran Bridgitte Prince. Bridgitte is taking the lead on a project to raise $35 Million to tell the story of the 29th Regiment Connecticut Infantry.  This all black unit was the first Union soldiers to enter and defeat the city of Richmond toward the end of the Civil War. Bridgitte believes the 29th Regiment deserves a museum and the building she has in mind has been vacant for decades.  She has help with funding from Democratic U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal and is also to receive national historic designation for the district where the building is located. Good luck Bridgitte and THANK YOU for your service.
