Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Petty Officer 3rd Class Joshua Carney from Rose Hill. Joshua serves the U.S. Navy at Amphibious Construction Battalion One (ACB-1) operating out of San Diego, California. Joshua has served for 3 years and he credits his cousin for the decision, because he wanted to follow in his cousin’s footsteps. Joshua is a 2018 graduate of Rose Hill High School and says, “I was taught discipline and hard work at a young age,” said Carney. “If you have that foundation, you’ll definitely succeed in the military.” Joshua says, “Serving in the Navy means I can protect my country and give back, It is truly an honor.” Thank you Joshua for making us Kansas Proud and THANK YOU for your service.
