The Sedgwick County Health Department (SCHD) is kicking off the month of April with a Spring Festival of Friendship, a two-day vaccine incentive event at SCHD’s Community Vaccine Clinic, 223 S. Main, Wichita. It will take place Friday, April 1, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 2, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

People who get a first or booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine will receive a $50 Visa gift card. Those who get a second or third dose will receive a t-shirt.

SCHD will provide the Pfizer vaccine for ages 5 and older and the Johnson & Johnson vaccine for ages 18 and older. Aetna Better Health of Kansas, Sunflower Health Plan, and United Healthcare Community Plan are providing support for the event.

Friday’s event will also feature a “Vaccinated & Caffeinated” coffee bar. On Saturday, kids can enjoy face painting and balloon animals, and those 3 to 18 years old can receive no-cost school and childcare immunizations.

Identification is not required to get vaccinated, but proof of prior vaccination(s) speeds up the registration process. Individuals under 18 years old must have parent or guardian consent for vaccination.
