KBI Identifies Woman Killed in Officer Involved Shooting in Cowley County Friday

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has identified the woman killed in an officer-involved shooting in Cowley County on Friday.

Authorities said 32 year old Andrea C. Barrow of Arkansas City, KS was shot and killed by sheriff’s deputies following a report of a suspicious vehicle. Barrow’s vehicle was parked near 122nd street just west of US 77, near Winfield.

Deputies reportedly approached Barrow, and when she refused to comply with their commands, she drew a firearm. Three deputies were injured and Barrow was shot and killed.

The KBI was then called in to assist.  The three injured deputies were transported to Wesley Medical Center. One sheriff’s deputy is still recovering in the hospital, but is now in good condition.  The other two deputies have been released from the hospital to continue recovering at home.

The investigation is ongoing.
