Police officers were called to a shooting incident Friday afternoon in a southwest Wichita neighborhood.
The shooting was reported in the area of 34th Street South and Meridian just after 4 p.m. Friday. A shooting victim was reported a few blocks to the north at Crawford and Everett.
Police said a disturbance in a convenience store continued in the parking lot, where the shooting took place. A 15-year-old boy was taken to a hospital in serious condition with a gunshot wound to the chest. Officers were talking to witnesses and searching for several suspects.
