Wichita’s West Bank and Delano community announced Tuesday that a mixed-use development project will be known as the “Ballpark District.”

EPC Real Estate Group announced plans to add three signature buildings adjacent to Riverfront Stadium, home to the Wichita Wind Surge. It will include a full-service hotel and class A office, retail and restaurant space.

The first step in the redevelopment project will include significant improvements to the west bank of the Arkansas River.  It is set to open in 2024.

Unscripted Wichita will feature 155 guest rooms and multiple food and beverage offerings including an indoor-outdoor rooftop bar and lounge.

Dream Hotel Group CEO Jay Stein said at a Tuesday press conference, “Driven by locally inspired food and beverage, thoughtful design and a culture of friendly service, Unscripted gives adventurous travelers what they want in a hotel brand – an authentic experience that delights the senses and enhances their lifestyle, but at a more accessible price point. We found a great partner in EPC Real Estate Group, a company that plays an important role in Wichita’s history and transformation story. We are excited to collaborate with such a talented group who really understands and appreciates our brand of hospitality and represents the values we share in contributing to the revitalization of great cities.”

The project is led by Kansas-based developer EPC Real Estate Group with architectural design by DLR Group. NAI Martens has been selected to handle the leasing of office, retail and restaurant space.
