Sedgwick County Emergency Communications will activate a non-emergency hotline this weekend for fireworks-related complaints.
The number is 316-290-1011, and it is for complaints about fireworks, loud parties and noise issues. People with emergency or life-threatening situations should call 911.
The hotline is intended to keep 911 open for emergency calls only. In past years it has received several hundred calls on fireworks issues.
The number will be open from 6 p.m. through 3 a.m. each evening Friday through Monday.
