The Star Spangled Salute is brought to you by

Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Veteran Toney Dervan and Fort Worth police officer Joe Spragins.  Over several months, Joe had numerous encounters with Toney following complaints about Toney and his service dog sleeping outside businesses.  Joe went beyond his job and developed  a relationship with Toney.  Joe found out that Toney was a war veteran serving right after 9-11 as a feul supply specialist who did three tours in Iraq before falling on hard times.  Eventually, Joe knew he wanted to help and he did by helping secure an RV and a spot at a local RV park for Toney, who now has a place to call home.  Toney says as he gets the support he needs right now, he plans to pass it on to other struggling veterans who are out there. He said he wants to create an RV park for veterans with trailers who don’t have a place that will take them.  Thank you Officer Joe Spragins for your kindness and THANK YOU Toney for your service.
