Two people were killed Wednesday morning in a crash in Barber County. The crash ended a chase that began in Pratt County.
The crash was reported around 10 a.m. on Highway 281 north of Medicine Lodge. A pickup that was reported stolen from a grain company was being chased south on the highway, and it collided with another pickup. An employee for Skyland Grain was using the truck to make deliveries and the truck was stolen during one of the stops.
Pratt County deputies were chasing the pickup when it went into the northbound lane and into a ditch, and hit a northbound pickup. Both drivers were killed.
The Kansas Highway Patrol is working with Barber County officials on the investigation. Highway 281 was closed for about five hours after the crash.
