Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors disabled Veteran John Frank and the landscaping company that helped him in his time of need. Frank paid almost $5,000 to a man who said he would do a bunch of work on his yard to make it beautiful. Unfortunately, John never saw the man again. Minutes after seeing the story, local landscape company owner Hector Alderete offered to help. Hector and his employees donated their time and materials to do the job which required removing tree stumps, leveling the ground, and installing fabric and 50 tons of rock. In total, it was over $17,000 worth of work that Hector and his staff did free of charge. The work made John cry tears of joy and Hector said that he and his employees will return next summer to pull weeds and help John maintain the beauty of the space.
