Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Combat Veteran Andrew Lee, known as the combat quilter. After 2 deployments to Iraq, the 20-year Veteran struggles with PTSD. To cope, and to make an effort to spend more time with his wife, they took a quilting class together and that’s when he realized how theraputic sewing was. Eventually, he joined a men’s quilting group and launched Quilts of Valor, creating quilts for other veterans. Lee said he gifted his first quilt to a 93-year-old World War II veteran. In total, he has awarded almost 220 quilts. Thank you Andrew for sharing our gifts and THANK YOU for your service.
