The FBI and the ATF are joining the investigation into the latest mass shooting in America, this time at a Walmart store in Chesapeake, Virginia. Seven people were killed, including the gunman.
Police in Virginia say the suspect in a shooting at a Walmart was an employee at the store. Despite that, Chesapeake Police Chief Mark Solesky declined to identify that individual as relatives haven’t been notified. The suspect died from what’s believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound after killing six people. Four people are in the hospital after Tuesday night’s shooting. A search warrant was also executed at the suspect’s residence.
Another “senseless act of violence.” That’s how the mayor of Chesapeake, Virginia is describing last night’s deadly shooting at a Walmart store. Mayor Rick West released a statement online saying he was devastated by the latest mass shooting in America. He noted that “Chesapeake is a tightknit community” and said his prayers are with all those affected by the tragedy.
