A new winter storm brought light snow to the Wichita area Tuesday afternoon and the snow is expected to continue into Wednesday morning.
A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect for south central Kansas until 6 Wednesday morning.
The Wichita area could see a trace to two inches of snow, while parts of southeast Kansas could see one to three inches.
Light snow began falling late Tuesday morning and was starting to cover rooftops and grassy areas, but road conditions were wet. Drivers are urged to watch for slick driving conditions on bridges and elevated highways.
The City of Wichita had its street crews working during the afternoon to put down a salt and sand mix on major roadways.
