Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Wichita Veteran Caleb Moran.  Imagine joining the Marines on September 10th, 2001 and then heading to boot camp with excitement the next morning only to see the horror of 9/11 play out on the tv and over the radio.  Caleb still went to boot camp, he said they picked up a couple more people and he thinks they were the only ones who went to boot camp that day on west coast. Eventually, Caleb and his unit, Gulf Battery 211, would be stationed in Iraq as MP and artillery training. His unit helped secure hundreds of kilometers stretching from the city of Fallujah to the border with Saudi Arabia. With all his time in the region Caleb says he’s lucky to have made it home alive. Thank you for sharing your story Caleb and THANK YOU for your service
