The Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission is now considering three applications that have been filed for new gaming operations in Sedgwick County.

On Tuesday, Boyd Gaming Corporation filed an application for an historical horse racing facility that would be constructed near Park City.  The facility at I-135 and 77th Street North would have a casino with terminals that allow players to bet on replays of historical horse races.  The facility would also have restaurants and meeting space.

Wichita businessman Phil Ruffin has filed an application for a facility that would be located at the former Wichita Greyhound Park building on 77th Street North near I-135.

Flint Hills Entertainment has filed for a facility that would be located at the Towne West Square shopping center in Wichita.  It would have terminals for betting on historical horse races.

The Racing and Gaming Commission will take 30 days to review the applications and determine a selection process.
