Today, JJ’s Star Spangled Salute, honors the World War II Veterans of D-Day, who returned to Normandy beach to mark the 79th anniversary of the battle that liberated France and Western Europe from the Nazis. Veterans like 99-year old Robert Gibson, who was one of 150,000 troops who landed at Normandy Beach on June 6, 1944. Some Veterans like Jake Larson from the U.S. and Bill Gladden of Great Britain, shared an emotional first meeting at the memorial, saying they were meant to meet. To all, from the Greatest Generation who changed the course of the war – THANK YOU for your service and sacrific.
