The Wichita Board of Education has announced tentative contract agreements with two unions representing school district employees.

Tentative two-year agreements were reached with the Service Employees International Union local 513 and with the Uniformed Security Officers and Security Dispatchers.

The SEIU agreement includes a 4.7 percent salary increase for all classified staff in the first year, then a 5 percent increase in the second year.   There will be no changes to the employee health program or premiums.

The Uniformed Security Officers and Security Dispatchers will have a pay increase of 4.9 percent in the first year, then a 5 percent increase in the second year.  No changes will be made to the employee health program or premiums.

SEIU members are voting online this week on the agreement, and the results will be shared with members on September 30th.   The school board will vote on the agreement during their October 2ndmeeting.    Local 513 represents more than 2,500 classified employees, including custodians, clerical staff, Nutrition Services employees, uniformed security officers, dispatchers and other School Service Center employees.
