At least one person is dead as tornadoes moved across Oklahoma on Monday. The death was reported late Monday night near Barnsdall, in Osage County just south of the Kansas border, where officials had declared a tornado emergency. Osage County Emergency Management reported damage to 30 to 40 homes. Emergency shelters have been set up to help displaced residents. The Barnsdall Nursing Home was hit with part of the roof collapsing, but no injuries were reported.
Emergencies were also declared in the city of Bartlesville and in Dewey.
At least four twisters touched down in Oklahoma, and damage reports were coming in from around the state. A tornado was reported near Okeene, in Blaine County in western Oklahoma.
