A Kansas House member from Sedgwick County has been charged in connection with a drunk driving incident in March.
State Representative Carl Maughan of Colwich was arrested in Topeka on March 4th. He has been charged in Shawnee County with driving under the influence and possession of a firearm while under the influence. His next hearing has been scheduled for June 26th.
Maughan represents House District 90. He stepped down from his role as vice chair of the House Judiciary Committee after the incident, although he remained on the committee.
