Wichita police are investigating after a 21-year-old woman appeared at a hospital with a gunshot wound and later died.
A woman identified as Jadidiah Ponce went to a hospital shortly before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Police captain Aaron Moses said officers are investigating several shooting scenes connected with the incident, and he said it’s believed to be a targeted shooting involving two groups of people. One scene was at 29th and Broadway, and another was at Morris and Mission, northeast of the intersection of Lincoln and Woodlawn.
Moses said the case is still under investigation and there are witnesses who have not provided information. Anyone with information on the shooting is urged to contact detectives at 268-4407 or Crime Stoppers at 267-2111.
