Prior to her appearance on “The Voice” the other night, ExtraTV caught up with ACM Entertainer of the Year Lainey Wilson and asked her point-blank if she had heard that some fans had been crowning her “The New Queen of Country Music,” and how she felt about that. To her credit, Lainey handled the question head-on, with a mix of pride and humility.
Acknowledging she’d seen and heard the comments, Lainey added, “That’s a lot of pressure, but I also feel like I’ve taken what I’ve learned from the women who I say are the queens of country, and I feel like I can do it…I don’t know if I can fill those shoes completely but I’m gonna try.”
Lainey has a new single
and is ready to be the newest member of The Grand Ole Opry
and she recently shared a special moment with Wynonna
This was the moment we FaceTimed my folks back at home and they REALLY started to think I was cool 🤣 @Wynonna, it has been a career highlight to work together on this song. I cherish our life-long friendship so much. Wynonna is the real deal y’all and I’m really proud of what we… pic.twitter.com/HkPS6b3IQK
