11-year-old Avory Woolery is being hailed as a hero after saving an unconscious man from the bottom of an apartment complex pool.
On Wednesday evening, Avory noticed the man submerged and shaking underwater. Realizing bystanders were frozen, his adrenaline kicked in. Avory put on his goggles, dove in, and pulled the man to the surface.
Once poolside, the man’s friend administered CPR while others called 911. The Lexington Fire Department transported the man to the hospital in serious condition. Avory’s father, Sean Woolery, expressed immense pride in his son’s swift, life-saving courage.
