WICHITA, Kan. - A ride at the abandoned Joyland Amusement Park caught fire early Thursday morning.
Firefighters said the Wacky Shack building caught fire at around 4 a.m. Thursday, and investigators are trying to find out what caused it. No injuries were reported, and firefighters said they did not find anyone inside the park.
Joyland closed permanently in 2006, and most of the rides at the park were torn down in 2015. The fire Thursday is the second fire at Joyland this year, after firefighters put out a burning storage shed on the property in February.
