TOPEKA, Kan. - The mother of Andrew Finch will testify in Topeka Tuesday, when Kansas lawmakers consider a bill to make Swatting a criminal offense.
Andrew Finch was shot and killed by Wichita police in December after someone made a prank 911 call, or "swatting." In response, Representatives John Carmichael and John Whitmer introduced a bill that would carry a prison sentence of 10 to 40 years if a false 911 call leads to a death.
Whitmer invited Lisa Finch to speak in Topeka. Our news partners at KWCH report Finch is expected to request the proposed bill be named after her son.
