Beheading suspect found not competent for trial

Rachel Hilyard will undergo more treatment

WICHITA, Kan - A Sedgwick County judge has ruled that a Wichita woman charged in a murder case is not competent to stand trial.

35-year-old Rachael Hilyard is charged with first degree murder in the killing of her ex-boyfriend's mother.  The body of 63-year-old Micki Davis was found last April at a southwest Wichita home, and police said she was beheaded.

The judge ordered Hilyard to be returned to Larned State Hospital for more treatment, and her status will be re-evaluated after 90 days.   Sedgwick County district attorney Marc Bennett said a hospital evaluation found that Hilyard could regain competency if she continues treatment.
