HOISINGTON, Kan. - The Hoisington community in central Kansas held a vigil Wednesday night for Iviona Lewis.
The 2-year-old girl was found dead in rural Barton County after she was reported missing Tuesday night. Family friends said Iviona's death has shaken the entire community, and they're asking for prayers.
"When my daughter came into this world, she gave me reason... It shouldn't have been her," Iviona's father, Devonte Lewis, told our news partners at KWCH. "It shouldn't have been [any] child at all. It's just hard."
The KBI stated a 25-year-old man has been arrested for suspicion of second-degree murder in the girl's death. Investigators stated formal charges will be filed after the girl's autopsy is complete.
