City employee credited with stopping attack

Wichita,Kan. - A Wichita employee received an award for helping to stop an attack on a woman in March. 

Jeffrey Weeks was mowing near McLean and Elizabeth, on March 26, when he saw a woman being sexually assaulted. Police say weeks honked the horn on his tractor, which distracted the attacker and allowed the woman to escape. 

Weeks called police, and later helped identify the suspect.

Deputy Chief, Anna Hatter, presented Weeks with the Outstanding Citizen's Plaque, for going above and beyond to help out. 

Weeks has been with Wichita Public Works for eight years.
