WICHITA, Kan - The country music duo known as Sugarland will perform Saturday at Intrust Bank Arena, and construction in the area may cause some problems with traffic and parking.
Arena officials say Waterman will be one lane in each direction between St. Francis and Rock Island. The construction activity there is for the development of nearby Union Station.
The west driveway entrance into city parking lot D, near the crosswalk signal, will be closed, but the east entrance will remain open.
In addition to the city parking lots downtown, there will also be parking at the Gander Mountain parking garage. Free shuttles will provide transportation from the garage to the arena, and that service will begin at 5:30 p.m. Shuttles will not pick up concertgoers at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium because of a Wichita Wingnuts game SAturday evening.
The regular Q-Line route will run from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. with a drop-off location at Douglas and St. Francis, just north of the arena. Fans are also encouraged to use the Coleman Parking Lot at 2nd and St. Francis.
In honor of Sugarland, Waterman street has been temporarily renamed at St. Francis to Sugarland Street. English Street has been temporarily renamed as Stuck Like Glue Lane at St. Francis.
