It happened near 21st and Market

WICHITA, Kan. - Police continue to investigate a shooting that left two men dead in north Wichita.

Officers were called to 21st and Market around 2:30 Saturday morning. They found a 24-year-old in an alley, who was shot in the abdomen. A 36-year-old man with a gunshot to his leg was found in a back yard.  Both men died from their injuries. They have now been identified as 24-year-old Manuel Otano-Hernandez and 36-year-old Jesse Villalobos, both of Wichita.

According to police, this began when Otano-Hernandez and two other men were firing a gun into the air, in an alley between Market and Park Place. The led to a disturbance with a group of people in a back yard that faced the alley.

Wichita police say this is still an active investigation, and anyone who knows more about what happened is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.

Police say this did not involve any gangs.
