WICHITA, Kan. - The final public hearings for Wichita's 2019-2020 budget are coming up.
Public hearings are set for August 7 and 14, at 9 a.m., in the City Council Chambers at City Hall.
If you would like to take part in the hearing but can't attend in person, the hearings will be streamed live on Wichita's Facebook and YouTube pages.
The current plan is to adopt the budget after the August 14 meeting is over.
Highlights for the proposed budget include funding to keep the LW Clapp Golf Course and library branches open. The budget also focuses on issues that Wichitans said were most important, like police and fire funding, as well as public transit and city maintenance.
Details on the proposed budget and Capital Improvement Plan can be found at the city's website.
