Former school secretary indicted on gun charges

She's serving time for making a fake bomb threat

A former school secretary in Pratt has been indicted on federal firearms charges.

33-year-old Claudia Rodriguez-Oviedo, who is a Mexican citizen, is already serving time for making a fake bomb threat to Pratt schools.   She admitted sending a bomb threat to the school district in early November, using a fake email account.  The threat forced the closing of Pratt schools for two days.

Rodriguez-Oviedo is now charged in federal court with two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm by an alien illegally in the United States.  Prosecutors said she possessed a Remington handgun and 35 rounds of ammunition in early November.  If convicted, she faces up to ten years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000 on each count.
