The city of Wichita is working with Via Christi Health and Wichita State University to provide a day of free health care services for low-income families.
This is the second year for Via Christi's Medical Mission At Home. It's scheduled Saturday, April 14th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mueller Aerospace Magnet Elementary School at 2500 E. 18th.
Participants will be seen on a first-come, first served basis and there is no pre-registration. Services will include medical and dental screening, with vision and hearing services. A pharmacy will also be set up at the event.
The services are available to people who are not able to afford health insurance or health services.
Last year's event at Fairmount Park had around 500 volunteers helping over 200 people with health services. There will be around 800 volunteers working with the free health care day this year.
