WICHITA, Kan. - A Sedgwick County judge has denied a motion to acquit Emily Glass.
Glass, the stepmother of missing 5-year-old Lucas Hernandez is on trial, accused of child endangerment involving her 1-year-old daughter. Testimony was given today, where Glass admitted to detectives to smoking marijuana while taking care of her daughter, the day before she reported Lucas missing.
She reportedly also drove her and her daughter to Olive Garden that day. Her attorney argued that because police did not conduct any drug testing on her, there was no evidence she was impaired while with her daughter.
A judge denied the acquittal motion by her attorney. Trial resumes Wednesday morning with closing arguments.
