Menards shooting suspect arrested in Hays

He's wanted for Monday shooting in Wichita

WICHITA, Kan - Wichita police report that the man wanted for a shooting at a Menards store on Monday has been arrested in Hays.

An 18-year-old man was arrested Wednesday.  No other details have been released.

The man was wanted for the shooting of a loss prevention officer during a shoplifting incident Monday at a Menards store at 37th Street North and Maize Road.   The officer was treated and later released from a hospital. 

A 17-year-old girl was arrested after leading police on a chase Tuesday from south Wichita into Derby. Her car crashed and overturned in a residential area near Meadowlark and K-15, and she was briefly hospitalized. 

Police are continuing their investigation.
