No. 1 seed Jayhawks to play in Wichita Thursday

In first round NCAA men's basketball tournament

WICHITA, Kan. - The teams competing in the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament have been revealed, and KU, K-State, and Wichita State made it in. One of the big three teams in Kansas will play its first round tournament game in Wichita.

WEDNESDAY IN WICHITA

Doors open for Open Practice Day at INTRUST Bank Arena at 10 a.m. Wendesday, March 14. The Arena stated the first 1,500 fans will get a free commemorative rally towel.

You'll be able to watch the teams playing Thursday and Friday practice for free throughout the day Wednesday. Check below for the practice schedule.

THURSDAY IN WICHITA

Kansas won the Big 12 championship over the weekend and will play their first round in the NCAA tournament in Wichita Thursday at INTRUST Bank Arena. The No. 1 seed Jayhawks will play No. 16 Penn at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 15. Doors open for the first session at 11:30 a.m.

After the KU and Penn game Thursday, No. 9 N.C. State will play No. 8 Seton Hall to wrap up the first session. In the second session, No. 11 San Diego St. will play No. 6 Houston at 6:20 p.m. Thursday. Number 14 Montana will play No. 3 Michigan after game three.

FRIDAY IN WICHITA

The winner of the KU and Penn game will play the winner of the Seton Hall and N.C. State game in the round of 32 Saturday in Wichita. 

The regional semifinal is set to take place March 23 in Omaha, Nebraska. The regional final is March 25, also in Omaha.

Montana: 5:40 p.m.

Organizers encourage fans to come and go throughout the practice day, but you'll have to go through security each time you enter the Arena.
