Peabody teacher accused of sex crimes

He is charged with eight counts

A teacher and coach in the Peabody school district has been accused of sex crimes.

The Marion County Attorney's office said Christopher Young is charged with five counts of unlawful sexual relations and three counts of sexual exploitation of a child.    He's accused of having a sexual relationship with a high school student at least 16 years of age, and the crimes involved in the five counts took place on January 28th and 29th.

Young is also accused of possessing a sexually-explicit "visual depiction" of a child under 18, and the three counts are alleged to have taken place on December 22nd, 23rd and 27th.

Officials in the Peabody-Burns school district say Young is on paid administrative leave as the investigation continues.
