Police conduct train crossing enforcement

13 citations were issued Wednesday morning

WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita and Bel Aire police departments conducted a special traffic enforcement Wednesday morning.

From 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., officers partnered with Union Pacific railroad to monitor railroad crossings.  The enforcement focused on the 3300 block of North Hillside, the 3900 block of North Oliver, 37th and Ridgewood, and the 4000 block of North Woodlawn.

13 citations were issued for drivers who drove through the crossings while they were active and a train was approaching.
