Police confirm death of Emily Glass in what appears to be a suicide

Her body was discovered early Friday morning

WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita Police say a woman found dead inside of a home in the 600 block of South Edgemoor is Emily Glass.

Around 1:40 a.m. Friday, 911 received a call from her boyfriend Jonathan Hernandez who reported coming home and finding Glass dead.  Police found 3 suicide notes inside of the home and say a rifle was found near Glass's feet.

Her death does appear to be a suicide.  However, her body has been taken to the Sedgwick County Forensic Science Center where the coroner will determine what exactly caused her death.

Wichita Police say her death is still under investigation.  Officer Charley Davidson says the disappearance and death of Lucas Hernandez is also still under investigation.

Glass had reported 5-year-old Lucas Hernandez missing back in February.  Lucas was the son of Jonathan Hernandez.

In late May, Glass led a private investigator to Lucas's body in a rural area of Harvey County.  The investigator had been hired by Hernandez's family.

Glass was arrested for obstruction of justice.  However, she was released several days later while police continued to investigate the death of Lucas and were awaiting full autopsy reports.
