Wichita - The Kansas Poor People's Campaign held a rally at McAdams Park, in Wichita, Saturday, with several dozen people attending.
The "Stand Up - Speak Out" event launched it's voter mobilization effort. The group looks to build pwer in poor and marginalized communities, and register and engage voters.
The event was held in front of McAdam's pool to show how systemic racism has been operating at the city level with the future closing of the neighborhood pool.
The group then marched into neighborhoods registering and engaging voters, as well as sharing the history of the McAdams neighborhood area.
Stand Up, Speak Out! represents the systemic issues and the fusion of all colors, creeds, identities and cultures of the movement.
