WICHITA, Kan. - If you missed out on tickets for the NCAA games in Wichita Thursday and Saturday but still want to take part in the basketball hype, you can head to the Open Practice Day Wednesday.
Beginning at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, fans can head to INTRUST Bank Arena to watch the eight teams practice before their big games Thursday and Saturday.
Doors open at 10 a.m. Penn will be the first team on the court at 11 a.m., and the teams will take turns practicing throughout the day. The Jayhawks practice begins at 12:30 p.m.
"It's free, so you don't need a ticket," said Visit Wichita President and CEO, Susie Santo. "I don't know that you're going to get any inside secrets, I don't know that they're going to give away their strategy. But, what it is, is an opportunity to see these incredible athletes."
Santo said some teams may bring their bands or mascots to the practice sessions.
INTRUST Bank Arena sent out a press release stating the first 1,500 fans in attendance will get a free commemorative rally towel. Attendees will be allowed to leave and re-enter the building, but you will need to go through the security process each time you enter the Arena.
