Two killed in Greenwood County semi crash

The victims are from Wichita and Parsons

UPDATE:  The Kansas Highway Patrol has identified the victims of a fatal crash in Greenwood County.   32-year-old Marcos Rodriguez-Reyes of Wichita and 35-year-old Darin Kyle Surridge of Parsons.  

The KHP said Rodriguez-Reyes was driving a semi westbound on U.S. Highway 400 east of the Beaumont rest area.   The semi went left of center for an unknown reason and hit an eastbound semi head-on.   Surridge was driving the second semi.  The accident happened around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.  

Highway 400 was reopened Thursday afternoon.

Highway 400 is closed in Greenwood County, after a crash involving two semis. 

The Kansas Highway Patrol says two people were killed and the highway is blocked between Flint Hills Road, and Highway 99. 

The Sheriff's Office says the crash was east of the Beaumont rest area. 

Investigators are working to find what caused the crash, that was reported around 1:30 Thursday morning. 

No identities have been released.
