US-77 to close south of Augusta for rail crossing repairs

Traffic to be diverted to Santa Fe Lake Road

AUGUSTA, Kan. - U.S. Highway 77 will be shut down starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday south of Augusta.

BNSF Railroad and RoadSafe Traffic Systems will close the highway south of the city limits down to Southwest 210th Street in Douglass.  All north and southbound traffic will be detoured to Santa Fe Lake Road west of Augusta from Highway 54 to Southwest 210th.

The work is expected to take about two days to complete.  Any overside loads will need to receive a permit from Butler County before utilizing the detour.
