Wichita man sentenced in assault case

A fraudulent Craigslist sale led to a dispute

WICHITA, Kan - A Wichita man has been sentenced to over four years in prison for assaulting another man during a fraudulent Craisglist transaction last summer.

22-year-old Kyle Waymire was given 53 months in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated battery. Prosecutors said he met a 33-year-old man outside a Quik Trip last July to buy some electronic items that were advertised on Craigslist.   The victim suspected Waymire of paying with counterfeit money, and when he tried to stop Waymire from leaving, he was struck by Waymire's car.  The incident happened July 9th in the parking lot of a Quik Trip at 1620 South Webb Road.

The judge also ordered Waymire to pay $11,502.54 in restitution to the victim for his medical expenses.
