WICHITA, Kan. - What's left of the Wichita Wingnuts will be auctioned off in October.
McCurdy Auction will be auctioning off Wingnut memorabilia, sky box and office furniture and various baseball equipment. The auction will take place at 10 a.m. on October 3.
On Tuesday, the Wichita City Council approved a buyout of the Wingnuts lease for Lawrence-Dumont Stadium. The stadium will be torn down and replaced with a new stadium that will include retail space and other major improvements.
Last week, it was announced that the Miami Marlins affiliated AAA New Orleans Baby Cakes had filed an application with minor league baseball to relocate to Wichita. The team will be playing in the new stadium.
