WPD recovers $68,000 in stolen property

Cars and tools were taken from a business.

WICHITA, Kan. - Police recovered $68,000 in stolen property from a west Wichita business. 

A body shop near Kellogg and Hoover was burglarized sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning. Two vehicles and tools had been taken. 

Investigators were led to a home in the 3700 block of North Armstrong, where two people were arrested. A 50-year-old man was taken into custody for eight counts of possession of stolen property. A 38-year-old man was arrested for seven counts of possessing stolen property. Both men were booked into jail Monday night.

The vehicles and tools stolen from the body shop were found, along with a third stolen car, a skid loader, and a stolen trailer. The third car had been taken from Conway Springs. The trailer and loader had also been stolen outside of Wichita. 

Police say their investigation into the stolen property is ongoing.
