Wichita - The Kansas Department of Transportation, along with 150 law enforcement agencies across Kansas, have launched the "You Drink. You Drive. You Lose" campaign, this week, to stop drunk driving.
Law enforcement will be looking for impaired motorists, as the campaign runs through Labor Day, which is one of the most dangerous times of the year to be on the roads.
On average, 3 people are injured every day, in alcohol-related crashes in Kansas, and account for 25 percent of all traffic fatalities.
Impaired drivers can face jail time, suspension of their driving privileges, fines and other cotst of up to $10,000. Beyond the financial and legal penalties, impaired drivers face the risk of losing their own lives or taking someone elses.
