After getting a lot of interest in 2018, Wichita State is expanding its Lifelong Learning Program for 2019.

“More than 500 senior citizens participated in one or more of the 14 courses offered in 2018. Due to the success of the program and overwhelming interest in these classes, we have increased the number of course offerings and added new locations,” said Kimberly Moore, director of WSU’s Office for Workforce, Professional and Community Education. “We value our seniors and are excited to continue to provide them with high-quality, engaging and meaningful educational opportunities.”

This program offers classes that are meant for students who are at least 60-years-old. Anyone in this age group, who enrolls for a spring course before February 14, will not have to pay any tuition. Students younger than 60 can also take the classes, but they will pay regular tuition.

Classes this year include The Flora and Fauna of Kansas , Wichita Neighborhoods: The North End, Presidential Leadership: Myth and Reality, and A History of Noise: Music and Politics from Beethoven to Jimi Hendrix.

These classes are held in locations that makes it easier for older students to attend.

More information on classes being offered for the spring semester can be found here.
