Derby asks for public input on school district boundary changes

Parents in Derby might send students to different schools in 2020.

The Derby School District is holding a meeting Thursday night to talk about changing elementary school boundary lines. The district created a “Boundary Committee” to look over enrollment data and trends, and they’re looking for public input.

You can tell the district what you think about proposed changes at one of two Community Input Forums. The first will be held Thursday, Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Derby Middle School. The second forum will be held Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Derby North Middle School.

Any changes to district boundaries would be implemented in the 2020-2021 school year.
