As severe weather season approached, the National Weather Service and Sedgwick County are hosting several severe weather classes.
Severe Weather Awareness Week in Kansas runs March 3 to March 9, but classes are being held from Late February to early April. The goal is to keep people safe in during severe weather events and inform people what to look for during severe weather. Preparedness is also a major component of the classes, and a preparedness kit is being given away at each class.
Sedgwick County residents may attend any class for free.
From February 25 to April 11, 19 classes are being held across the county. A full schedule is available here.
